Campus Memberships

Full-time students, faculty, and staff of UVM and Champlain College qualify for discounted memberships! Before applying, please review our Eligibility page. There is a one-time, non-refundable $30 application fee per driver. Applications are processed within two business days. Enrollment in the Damage Waiver Program is encouraged for members that do not have rental car insurance.

Campus Membership FAQs

Who’s eligible?

To be eligible for our Campus plan, you must meet CarShare Vermont’s standard membership requirements as well as the following:

• Be enrolled as a full-time student or employed on a full-time basis at Champlain College or the University of Vermont (not including UVM Medical Center).

• Not hold a campus parking permit.

Please note that faculty and staff are welcome to add family members to their account at a cost of $25/year for each additional driver.

Can I renew my membership?

Yes. All full-time campus affiliates who continue to meet the eligibility requirements may renew on an annual basis. Feel free to contact us with any questions or to determine your eligibility for renewal.

Which vehicles can I use?

Students, faculty, and staff have access to our entire fleet of vehicles, on campus and off. We currently have three vehicles on the UVM campus and three at Champlain College:

University of Vermont

  • Silvester at Royall Tyler Theatre on University Place
  • Lewis at Dewey Hall on North Prospect St. at Colchester Ave./Pearl St.
  • Stella at Redstone Lofts on the Redstone Campus

Champlain College

  • Hope at Sanders Hall on College St. at South Willard St.
  • Usain at West Hall on Maple St. at South Willard St.
  • Simon in the parking garage of 194 Saint Paul St. at Maple St.

Several more vehicles are within walking distance of both institutions.

Is there a monthly option?

Our discounted Campus plan is only available on an annual basis. For the flexibility of a monthly plan, consider our Individual & Household plans.
